Customer profiles

View a customer’s properties, Segment memberships, and Journeys.

Customer profiles bring a person’s properties, audiences, and Experience history into one place. Open a profile to see what you know about that customer, why they received an Experience, and what they did next.

This is useful when you’re answering a support question or investigating a result. You can follow one customer’s onboarding, inspect their answers, and give Nuxie the same customer ID to continue the investigation in a Task.

Find a customer

Open Customers for your app and environment, then select the customer you’re looking for. The profile’s sidebar shows their Customer ID, creation date, last update, and available contact information. Use the copy action beside the ID to include it in a Task.

Your SDK supplies the identity. Before sign-in, activity belongs to an anonymous customer. When the person signs in, identify them with a stable ID from your app so you can recognize them across devices. Reset the SDK’s identity on sign-out; your SDK guide has the exact calls.

Create a customer

You can add a customer before they use your app. Choose Create Customer, enter a Name, Customer ID, and optional Email, then choose Create Customer again to save.

Use the ID your app will send when identifying that person. SDK activity can also create customer records. Adding one manually doesn’t send an event or start an Experience.

Profile information

The four tabs give you different views of the customer:

  • Overview brings together signup information, recent activity, Segment memberships, and available connector data.
  • Properties lists the keys, values, and types you’ve stored. You can add or delete properties here; Edit properties in the profile menu opens the same tab.
  • Segments shows active and exited memberships, including when the customer joined.
  • Journeys lists their Experience runs, status, outcome, start time, and where each run executed.

Use Customer properties for details you want to use in targeting or personalization.

Connected records

Connector Sources shows customer fields supplied by connected services and the provider each field came from. Billing information, for example, can help explain the customer’s relationship with your app alongside their in-app activity.

These records keep their source. A provider’s field and a property your app sends aren’t interchangeable. See Using connected data to bring that context into a Task.

Activity and responses

Open Journeys and select a run to follow its timeline. You can filter the list by status, execution location, or outcome. If an Experience allows re-entry, the same customer can have several runs through it.

To read their answers, open the published Experience’s Responses tab and find the customer and Journey. Responses keep what was collected during that run, while Customer properties describe the person’s current state.

If activity seems to be missing, check the identity, app, and environment that received it. The profile can only show the data Nuxie received for that context.

Activity and Journey history and Collected responses explain those views in more detail.

Delete a customer

Choose Delete in the Customers table to remove the record from the selected app and environment. This is different from editing a property or resetting the SDK on one device.
