Copy a design in Figma and paste it onto your Experience canvas. Nuxie creates editable frames you can arrange, change, and use in your Experience.

## Copy a design

1. **Copy in Figma**

Select the frames you want to bring into Nuxie, then press **⌘C** on macOS or **Ctrl+C** on Windows. You can copy up to 20 frames at once.

2. **Paste onto the canvas**

Open your Experience in Nuxie. Click an empty area of the canvas and press **⌘V** on macOS or **Ctrl+V** on Windows.

The frames appear on your canvas with editable text and layers. If images need a connection, Nuxie offers **Continue to Figma** or **Skip** before adding the frames.

You can now edit the design or ask Nuxie to change it. Add [interactions](/docs/guides/screens-and-interactions) to connect screens and define what happens when someone taps a button.

## Images

Nuxie downloads images through your workspace's Figma connection and adds them to your asset library. If it cannot download an image, the **Connect Figma** dialog gives you two choices:

- **Continue to Figma** opens a separate window to connect your account. Choose an account with access to the source file. After connecting, Nuxie retries the images for the same paste.
- **Skip** adds the frames with placeholders for unavailable images. Closing the dialog does the same. Connecting later won't fill these placeholders automatically.

You can replace placeholders with [images from your workspace](/docs/guides/images-and-assets). To try the Figma images again, connect and paste the selection again. This creates new frames, so remove the earlier copy if you no longer need it.

Manage the workspace's Figma account in [Connectors](/docs/guides/connectors).

## Supported designs

You can bring in frames, groups, components, rectangles, and text with a consistent style. Supported styling includes solid colors, uniform rounded corners, opacity, padding, spacing, and basic row, column, and absolute layouts.

Images can be PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Use **Fill** or **Fit** with the image fill's opacity at 100%. Cropped, tiled, or transformed image fills aren't supported.

## Troubleshooting

### A layer can't be converted

An unsupported layer stops the import. Adjust it in Figma, then copy the selection again:

- **Component instance:** detach the instance before copying.
- **Gradient, stroke, or effect:** use a solid fill and remove strokes and effects.
- **Rotated layer:** reset its rotation.
- **Mixed text styles:** use one style throughout the text layer.
- **Vector artwork:** leave it out of the selection and add it separately as a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image in Nuxie.

### Images are still unavailable

Check that the connected account can open the source file. If the images remain unavailable, choose **Skip** to paste with placeholders. An unavailable image doesn't prevent you from importing the rest of a supported design.

### The selection is too large

Copy fewer frames at a time. If a single frame is too large, try a smaller group of layers from that frame.

## Copying again

Each paste creates new frames. Changes in Figma don't update the frames already in Nuxie, and pasting again doesn't replace them.

To take a design back to Figma, see [Copy to Figma](/docs/guides/copy-to-figma).
